چکیده
Abstract The investigation of technologies that can improve the sustainability air transport system requires not only development alternative fuel concepts and novel vehicle but also definition appropriate assessment strategies. Regarding noise, should reflect situation communities living near airports, i.e., addressing sound levels accounting for annoyance caused by aircraft noise. Multi-domain active sound control and noise shielding.
This paper describes an active sound control methodology based on difference potentials. The main feature of this methodology is its ability to automatically preserve "wanted" sound within a domain while cancelling "unwanted" noise from outside the domain. This method of preservation of the wanted sounds by active shielding control is demonstrated with various broadband and realistic sound sour...
متن کاملCircuits with Medium Fan-In
We consider boolean circuits in which every gate may compute an arbitrary boolean function of k other gates, for a parameter k. We give an explicit function f : {0, 1} → {0, 1} that requires at least Ω(log2 n) non-input gates when k = 2n/3. When the circuit is restricted to being layered and depth 2, we prove a lower bound of nΩ(1) on the number of non-input gates. When the circuit is a formula...
متن کاملDesign of cooling fan for noise reduction using CFD
Cooling fans are one of the main noise sources in pumps. Tonal noise produced at a multiple of the rotational frequency of the fan, the so-called blade passing frequency (BPF) and its higher harmonics generally dominate fan noise. Noise reduction is perhaps one of the most important parameter in pumps. Every noise reduction process starts with identification of noise sources and ranking of soun...
متن کاملUsability assessment of cone beam computed tomography with a full-fan mode bowtie filter compared to that with a half-fan mode bowtie filter
Background: In intensity modulated radiation therapy, cone beam computed tomography (CT) has been used to evaluate patients prior to treatment. This study conducted a comparative evaluation of the image reconstruction ability of the clinically used half-fan bowtie filter and the full-fan bowtie filter. Materals and Methods: A CT simulation marker was inserted inside a human phantom, and the pel...
متن کاملAn Optimal Shape Design Problem for Fan Noise Reduction
Noise generated by the rotating blades of an aircraft turbofan engines continues to pose a challenge for many researchers and of course, the reduction of the noise have been received more attention in the recent studies. Williams and Hall studied aerodynamic sound generation by turbulent flow around a scattering half plane [1]. Howe in [2] discussed the trailing edge noise at low Mach numbers. ...
